Colorado Wedding Photographer captures bride and groom leaving wedding with unique wedding send offs

Unique Wedding Send-Offs

Sending off the bride and groom on the night of their wedding may be one of the most magical moments of the entire day. As a Colorado wedding photographer specializing in elopements, I have a soft spot for a good wedding exit. Even though we are all exhausted from the happy tears as they say their vows, stuffing our faces with appetizers and desserts, and dancing the night away, we pull it together for one last “hurrah”! And for the bride and groom, running through the sparklers, bubbles, or confetti is one of the best feelings in the world. Because you know after that moment you get to spend the rest of forever with each other. Let’s take a look at my list of unique wedding send-offs.

Make it Special

With all that said, I think you get the point. Your send-off is a highlight of the evening. Like the rest of your wedding, it should be planned uniquely and specifically for your relationship. If you’re more of an outdoorsy couple, maybe toss seeds. Or, if you want a more magical moment, sparklers or bubbles are another option! Your wedding send-off should be something you and your partner look forward to as you prepare to start forever together.

Leaves for Unique Wedding Send-Offs

With fall around the corner, tossing leaves would be the perfect way to send off the bride and groom! Imagine walking through a cascade of bright fall leaves on a crisp October day. And if you have a little extra time, you can use a hole punch to create biodegradable confetti! Either way, it is a gorgeous (and free) way to send off a bride and groom! Talk about unique wedding send-offs! I love the idea of leaves in the fall; it gives all the Gilmore Girl and Pumpkin Patch vibes.

Herbs

Okay, hear me out! I know exactly what you are thinking, and no, I am not suggesting you get some dried oregano for your guests to throw at you. There are a lot of gorgeous flowering herbs that you could use! Lavender is probably the most popular, but there is also Bee Balm, Dill, Rosemary, Spearmint, and so much more. No matter your wedding colors, there is an herb for you! I love this idea for an affordable option that is also environmentally friendly!

Lights

Light wands are for you if you are more into the party scene or want an epic exit! Flashing neon lights surround you as you run into the night. Honestly, that sounds like the beginning of the after-party! It is fun to involve light in the send-off and give your guests fun party favors to take home! I love a good light wand for late-night receptions as well! They add a unique flair to photos and bring the party to life.

Seeds for Unique Wedding Send-Offs

I’ve got you covered if you want something unique and safe for the environment. Lastly, on my list of unique wedding send-offs are bird seeds! Bird seeds not only give you a fairy tale send-off but also provide a little snack for the critters in the area. Bird seeds are especially helpful for our feathery friends during winter when there is not as much for them to eat! This option is perfect for a couple’s outdoor elopement or garden-themed wedding. It helps our feathered friends while giving you the exit you deserve!

The adrenaline that comes with being sent off into the night is indescribable! It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you will never want to forget. I would be thrilled to be part of your send-off and capture the special moment with your family and loved ones. Let’s chat today!
